Avocado Week: Avocado Ranch Dressing

C – Avocado in everything!

Lately, I have been noticing there’s avocado in everything. Is it because I live in California? California style? Who knows. But, I’m happy. I love avocados.

I have been seeing more avocado in ranch dressing, especially. I was intrigued. It’s been popping up in grocery stores all over the place. I looked at the ingredient list and knew I could make it.

Of course, without using any preservatives or color additives. I hate when companies put in additives just to make it look good. Avocados turn brown … so let’s add food coloring so it stays green. Yuk!

I have a new passion. Making my own dressings. It’s easy and I don’t have to waste my money throwing away bottled dressings if I don’t like them. This avocado ranch was simple and easy. If I messed it up, it only cost me about a dollar.

The outcome was good. A creamy, avocado ranch dressing, with lots of fresh herbs. A balance of sour, garlic, onion and just a hint of mayonnaise.

I love this new passion for making dressings. It doesn’t seem so tedious anymore. Of course, you can always make a batch to last a few days. Add a bit more lemon. Just in case the avocado turns brown.

It makes life even easier.
